“Not me, not Hermione, you!”
June 29, 2010

So, I just watched the new Deathly Hallows trailer and here are my thoughts:

  1. The trailer describes these movies as “The Motion Picture Event of a Generation,” and man is that dead-on. When Kelly decided we should watch Sorcerer’s Stone tonight, I realized that by the time these movies come out, it will have been a decade of HP in theaters. A decade. That’s nearly half of my life when all is said and done. I have truly grown up with these characters and I will be incredibly sad to see them go. I have said it before and I’ll say it again: the end of these movies will officially mark the end of my childhood.
  2. Are they really offering this movie in 3D? Fools! Harry Potter doesn’t need 3D to make movies awesome! HE’S MAGIC. If that’s not awesome, then tell me, what is?
  3. I can’t wait.

Heyyo mama, free my soul

Apparently I’ve started Twittering now. I know I’m way behind the times with this, but I just started actually posting things on Twitter instead of creepily following famous people’s every move. So, follow me I guess.

And, because it’s been way too long since I’ve posted, have two songs!

A Love Letter
June 12, 2010

My Dearest Athens,

Thank you for another year of fun, friends, and debauchery. Thank you for the beautiful campus and the hills that whipped my ass into shape this year. Thank you for Court Street, my unwavering beacon home at the end of a long night. Thank you also for the establishments on said street; for Big Mamma’s, Perks, and the numerous watering holes with proprietors that look the other way when I use a Wendy’s gift card as an ID.

Thank you for 101 South Court Street, that amazing white house with a porch big enough to accommodate 15 girls as they drive a remote controlled car down the sidewalk at unsuspecting passersby. Thank you for Front Quad, the room where I found the people that will love me unconditionally. Thank you for College Green, where I napped in the sun. Thank you for the fests and for making day drinking acceptable. Thank you for the snow, the sunshine, and the thunderstorms.

Thank you for being a home when I needed one most. I miss you and never want to leave you again.

I promise
June 8, 2010

I’m taking a study break to do my first-ever case race. This means that I am missing the premiere of Pretty Little Liars and, most likely, the season finale of Glee. Sad times friends, but at least I have finally realized that my real life friends are more important than my fictional ones! Hey, turns out I learned something this year after all.

Also, this song makes me want to cry and take part in a movie montage or something.

It’s still Finals Week
June 7, 2010

I have switched from Pandora to the amazing Stereo Mood for my musical needs this week. In the “homework” playlist that I am currently listening to, the Feist and The Constantines cover of “Islands in the Stream” came on. I found this hilarious because in episode 9 of season 2 of The Office (I looked it up, I just don’t know these things, I’m not that weird) Jim and Michael sing that song on karaoke. I tried to find a clip of it, but YouTube won’t help me. Ok that’s all, just a quick study break.

I’m running on coffee and Pandora.

Three things about Finals Week that annoy me:

  • People who sit at a four-person table all by their lonesome.
  • I have been wearing my hipster headphones so long that my ears hurt.
  • That it’s Finals Week and not Dance Week.

That’s all for now, although I’m back in the library after only 9 hours away from it, so I’m sure there are more blog posts coming.

Finals may defeat me
June 6, 2010

I just watched a full episode of Gilmore Girls in the library when I should have been studying. My brain is melting. Also, watch this preview of HP7. It’s going to be a loooooong wait.

Wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles
June 5, 2010

So, since I should be studying, I naturally want to do anything but. After lunch today, Alisa and I searched for a copy of The Notebook to watch instead of being responsible students. Shockingly, no one in our sorority house had it, so we settled for watching television instead. And then, miraculously, ABC Family was playing The Notebook. It’s as though they know us. I love it.

Also, I found this while perusing HarryFuckingPotter for hours last night. Enjoy.

Just like autumn leaves we’re in for change

Well folks, finals are upon us which means that you can expect a deluge of blog posts over the next 8 days. Everyone knows my favorite way to procrastinate is to post on here, so I’ll be stepping up my game. In the mean time, I’m watching Dexter and it’s blowing my mind! I also watched Adventureland again recently. In my opinion it’s way better the second time around.

Here, have some music:
