WTF MIA?
April 27, 2010

MIA’s newest music video has been yanked from YouTube for it’s excessive violence. I’m sure the outraged reactions are exactly what MIA wants from this video, but frankly, I wasn’t even paying attention to her music, and isn’t that usually the point for a music artist? I don’t know how to insert vimeo videos, so just click below!

Blowing my mind

New awesomeness from my faves, Straight No Chaser, off of their album “With a Twist”.

Who will love you?

I am in love with this tat, courtesy of FuckYeahTattoos! It helps that the lyrics are from one of my all-time favorite Bon Iver songs, “Skinny Love.”

I want it!

Regardless, his collaboration with Gorillaz on their new album is electrifying (punny!).

You the baddest, that ass is the fattest
April 18, 2010

An alarming fact has come to my attention: I share a common lifestyle choice with the world’s fattest mother. An article for The Daily Mail said that Donna Simpson, who is currently aiming for the title of world’s fattest woman, “eats mounds of junk food and tries to move as little as possible.”

People. This is me.

Things that require me to move from my bed cause me great pain. I have often shouted Accio hoping to summon things to me, as opposed to moving and getting them. While some call it laziness, I just enjoy lounging about. This leaves me with two options:

  1. Continue to live lazily but increase my caloric intake in order to become Simpson’s biggest (pun!) competition.
  2. Change now, before I die in the crane that will surely be needed one day to move me from my bed to the refrigerator.

So, do I capitalize on my laziness? I know I have previously stated my professional goal, but perhaps I should consider a new option?

This will have to be a question for another day because in my true fashion, I have yet to start tomorrow’s homework. And tomorrow starts in 43 minutes. Pip pip!

Last Friday, my first-ever article ran in The Post. Check it out, people!

And, really, what’s a blog post without some tunes, hmm?

These guys are courtesy of Darren Criss’ Twitter. They’re a funk band from Ann Arbor and they’re awesome.

I fail at studying for French. Here is what I am listening to as I procrastinate:

More music
April 13, 2010

I have made my feelings about a cappella groups perfectly clear, so when I saw this video on The Frisky I was rather excited. It features Ithacappella, an a cappella group from Ithaca College, with the crazy-talented PS 22 Chorus. I love seeing the students so enthusiastic about singing. With so many public schools facing budget cuts that prohibit students from participating in extracurricular activities, videos like these highlight the importance of music programs in schools. Hopefully these kids are able to keep up the amazing work!

Now I’m on a Shins kick (Get it? Like, kicking you in the shins? I know, I know, I should do stand-up).
